What usage is billable?

When you download a layout candidate, you consume "pin credits" and get access to all candidates in that layout job.

How billing works

When you buy a Quilter license, you receive a set number of "pin credits". These credits can be used to purchase layout jobs, allowing you to download any layout candidates within those jobs.

To purchase a layout job, you spend a number of pin credits equal to the number of input pins detected in your uploaded files. For instance, if your input board file contains 1,000 pins, you'll spend 1,000 pin credits when you download the first layout candidate from that job. You would not consume any pin credits when you download additional candidates from a purchased layout job.

You can submit and view unlimited layout jobs without using any pin credits. Pin credits are only deducted when you purchase a layout by downloading one or more generated layout candidates.

Purchasing a layout job

If your candidate download triggers billable activity (it is the first candidate you've downloaded from that layout job), a confirmation dialog will display the number of "pins" needed to purchase the results of the layout job.

You only pay for layout candidates that you approve. Layout jobs are billable only if you download one or more candidates. Downloading a single candidate from a job grants you access to all of them at no extra cost.

Identifying your purchased layout jobs

Quilter allows you to quickly recognize purchased layout jobs on your home page and job detail pages by checking for the "downloaded" icon.

On the home page

To see your purchased layout jobs, click the "Downloaded" filter on the home page.

On the job details page

Any layout jobs that have been downloaded will display a "Downloaded" icon next to their name, signifying that they cannot be downloaded again.
